Lalique's story began with René Lalique, the French jeweller and glass artist whose extraordinary imagination helped redefine both jewellery and decorative glass in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
His relationship with perfumery began in the early 1900s through his collaboration with François Coty. Together, they helped transform perfume presentation, making the bottle itself an important part of the fragrance experience.
That artistic heritage eventually became part of Lalique's own fragrance identity. In 1992, the House launched its first signature perfume, Lalique de Lalique, bringing together its distinctive bottle design and a commitment to quality fragrance.
Azalée, launched in 2014, continues that relationship between nature, art and fragrance. Its name and visual identity evoke the flowering azalea, while the composition moves from sparkling citrus and peach through a lush floral heart before settling into a refined woody-musky base.
